Xtra Dog has been offering courses in canine body language and Tellington TTouch observations for nearly 10 years, and their Course Director has also trained numerous canine body language instructors in that period, as well as assisted on the Tellington TTouch Practitioner Programme.

Now we are thrilled and excited to be able to offer an Instructor programme so that you can become a licensed Xtra Dog Talk Dog Instructor. This programme includes the iPET Network Level 2 Certificate in Canine Body Language, regulated by OFQUAL. Talk Dog was developed in 2022 and combines canine body language, learning how to observe dogs, learning about a dog's emotions and understanding dog-dog interactions.

This course is easy to learn and easy to deliver, in person or Livestream. There is always a huge demand for canine body language courses.

HOW WE TRAIN

Our instructor training programme is delivered online through a combination of live sessions, video modules and hands-on practice. You'll learn not just WHAT to teach, but HOW to teach it effectively.

Read the Talk Dog student manual, pdf provided.

STEP THREE

Attend the Livestream Training sessions.

STEP FOUR Present 3 slides (one from each section) to your instructor, one to one on Zoom and get useful feedback.

DAY ONE

Understand different learning styles and how to accommodate these styles when teaching.
Learn how to structure and deliver a course or workshop which will inspire and wow your students.

DAY TWO

We review the course slides and we share our tips and tricks on how to teach the course.
Lots of opportunities to ask your Instructor questions and for them to share their experiences teaching Talk Dog.

We also provide a student support WhatsApp group where you can interact with other Talk Dog Instructors, students and Instructor Trainers. If you ever have an issue, you can tag Alex Wilson or Nate Cant in the group. This group is a great place to meet other instructors and where you can share ideas, marketing strategies and anything Talk Dog.

Alex is Course Director at Xtra Dog and responsible for developing all the training courses that run here. He is passionate about dogs, learning about how they communicate with each other and us. He is also a Senior Tellington TTouch Practitioner (P3) and assists on the practitioner training programme.

Alex is a former Senior Instructor at the Dog Training College and has also completed and passed the Advanced Instructor Programme with the Association of Pet Dog Trainers UK. He has also studied Humpback whales with the Oceania Project and Common Bottlenose Dolphins with the Centre for Dolphin Studies.
